Research On The Transcendental Meditation Technique
More than 600 peer-reviewed research studies on the TM technique have been published in more than 160 scientific journals. These studies were conducted at more than 200 universities and research centers, including Harvard Medical School, Stanford Medical School, Yale Medical School, UCLA Medical School, and the Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science.

A 1985 study published in the Journal of Counseling and Development (64, 1985: pp 212-15) showed significant reduction of PTSD in Vietnam Veterans. There was no significant improvements in the control group that was receiving psychotherapy.
Reduction of Post Traumatic Stress in Congolese Refugee populations (Journal of Traumatic Stress 26, 2013 pp 295-298.
Ninety percent of Congolese Refugees with PTSD in this research study became non-symptomatic within 30 days of learning TM. The control group that did not learn TM remained at the same high level of PTSD throughout the 135 day study.
A second study on Congolese Refugee populations titled, "Significant Reductions in Post Traumatic Stress Symptoms of Congolese Refugees Within 10 Days of Transcendental Meditation Practice " ( Journal of Traumatic Stress 27, 2014 pp 112-115) reconfirmed the 30 day result of the earlier study and also showed a 30 point drop in symptoms even within 10 days of TM practice for this same group of cohorts. Millions of children diagnosed with stress and ADHD are medicated for it, but with very little success. ADHD is a symptom of modern stress. The latest study shows 12 weeks of meditation twice a day, caused a normalization of the brain function and a marked drop in the symptoms of ADHD.
